The Ethical Use of A.I. in Law

1 CLE / 1 E - Tuesday, August 18; 12:15 P.M. - 1:15 P.M.

Overview:

This session will explore the rapidly evolving role of artificial intelligence in legal practice, with a focus on maintaining ethical integrity while embracing technological innovation. Participants will examine how A.I. tools can be used in compliance with the American Bar Association’s Model Rules of Professional Conduct, including issues of competence, dealing with A.I. hallucinations, confidentiality, supervision, and reasonable fees. The discussion will also address practical strategies for evaluating which A.I. technologies can be used responsibly, as well as potential pitfalls to avoid. Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of which A.I. tools to integrate into their practice ethically, and effectively.
